Braves win two against the Padres

San Diego Stadium,

Game 1,

Hank Aaron and Felix Millan each drive in a pair as Atlanta easily upends the Padres.  Ron Reed pitched a complete game as he surrendered only one run as he scattered 8 hits for the game to up his record to 2-1. The hard luck loser was Johnny Podres (1-2). Roberto Pena was the bright spot for San Diego. Pena banged out three safeties in the defeat. Braves 6...Padres 1.

Game 2,

Pat Jarvis has had it rough in the early going as he lost his first three games. He got the ship righted against the expansion Padres to get into the victory column.  Jarvis went surrendered only 3 hits through 6 innings for his initial triumph of the infant season.  Bob Tillman connected for a two run homerun(his second on the campaign) to support the right hander's performance.  Lefty Dick Kelley got tagged with the loss and falls to 0-2.  San Diego shortstop Roberto Pena had another 3-hit performance to go 6 for 8 during the short two game series.  Braves 3...Padres 2.
