Braves bats wake up

Drives in four runs
May 18, 1969 Montreal:  Atlanta scored eight runs in the second inning on their way to a convincing 12-2 drubbing of the Expos.  Montreal starter Mike Wegener (1-3) failed to make it out of the second inning.  The right hander was knocked around to the tune of eight runs in 1.2 innings of work.  Meanwhile, Atlanta right hander Ron Reed (5-2) went the distance allowing only one earned run with zero walks and seven K's.  Reed also drove in the Braves first run with a single in the second.  A Clete Boyer two out triple making the score 8-0 sent Wegener to an early shower.  Boyer finished 3 for 4 with 4 RBI.  Felix Millan added three more hits in six atbats with two runs and two RBI.

Ty Cline provided the lone bright spot for Montreal with a pinch hit homer leading off the sixth.
