Braves Prenez Trois de Expos

GAME ONE Hank Aaron (27), Clete Boyer (8) and Rico Carty (4) each banged out 2-run home runs as the Braves win 6-2 in the first game back from the All-Star Break. Coco Laboy (5) went yard for the Expos.

GAME TWO – Sonny Jackson’s single in the B12 plated Felix Millan to lift Atlanta to a 3-2 victory. Montreal’s backup 2B Angel Hermosa led all ballplayers with 4 safeties.

GAME THREE – Jerry Robertson (5-5) out-dueled Pat Jarvis (8-6) 2-1 as both pitchers completed the game. Rusty Staub’s RBI single and Mack Jones’ RBI triple in the 1st were all the runs Montreal would need. Tony Gonzalez (5) went deep for Atlanta’s lone tally.

GAME FOUR – The Braves battle back twice to defeat Expos 5-4 in 10 innings. Trailing 3-1 in the 9th, Atlanta gets a home from Aaron (28) and an RBI double from Gonzalez to tie it. Bobby Wine (4) cracked a HR in T10 to give the Expos a short-lived 4-3 lead. In B10, Boyer scores on a wild pitch and Bob Didier raced home with the winner on a Gil Garrido ground out.
