A 3 run home run by 'Stretch' McCovey in the 1st and a solo shot by Ron Hunt in the 2nd turned out to be all the runs Gaylord Perry would need to post his 9th win.
Game 2: San Francisco 5 Cincinnati 1
W: Sadecki (7-8) L: Nolan (2-3)
Ray Sadecki held the Reds scoreless until the 8th, then Frank Linzy came on in the 9th with the bases loaded and got a double play to end the game.
Game 3: Cincinnati 8 San Francisco 2
W: Culver (7-5) L: McCormick (5-9)
Pete Rose went 5-5 to extend his hitting streak to 30 games and Don Pavletich hit 2 homeruns to give the Reds an easy win in the series finale.
